The
goals of the council are:
-
Bring
together the diverse representatives of teaching,
research, and public service involved in transportation-related
work in the University;
-
Establish
a close relationship among the participants on the
Council and promote other transportation interests
in the University;
-
Foster
collaborative research among the participating members
of the Council and with other faculty in the University
-
Develop
and submit broad-based collaborative proposals that
fund transportation, education, and research through
collaborative efforts;
-
Promote
the development of interdisciplinary educational
and outreach activities in transportation across
units that capitalize on faculty expertise and interests
that serve the needs of transportation industry
and operating agencies nationally;
-
Identify
new sources of external funding that will support
the core academic programs in transportation.
